We are pleased to announce that James Wake has agreed to become the next professional at the club from Thursday 20th September.  James has worked under Guy Wills at Fulford for the past 5 years.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate James and wish him all the best over the coming years.

James will continue with the great work Fraser has started with an emphasis on Junior and Adult coaching.

Congratulations to Paul Moisley who won the Rabbits Championship with a gross score of 174 after 36 holes of play.

The Ladies Bling Fling Day to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee took place on Tuesday, 5th June.

It was a lovely occasion and our ladies entered into the spirit of the day. An enjoyable day was had by all!

The Lady Captain won the Medal round resulting with a lower handicap. Congratulations to her for organising such a lovely day and her reward of a lower handicap! Quite rightly deserved!

The 2012 Ladies Open Day took place on Friday 25 May.

The course was in splendid condition and it was hard to believe how much rain had fallen earlier in the month. The weather was wonderful and everyone was able to appreciate a cooling drink at the half way house.

The closely contested competition was won by Anthea Smithies and Sadie Wilyman from Otley with 35 points. Susan Ellis and Alison Downing from Thirsk and Northallerton were 2nd with 34 points and Valerie Tildesley and Nicola Simpson from Easingwold were 3rd with 30 points.

Many thanks go to everyone who supported the day and also to all the Heworth ladies and staff who worked so hard to make it a success.

Heworth Golf Club held their nerve to win the York Union Winter League, The Cross Trophy.

After 14 rounds of competition between October to March, the Heworth team won by an impressive 25 shots from 2nd placed Kirkbymoorside Golf Club.
